Kao Corporation has announced the upcoming launch of Sofina Jenne, a new skin care series for young women in their 20s. “Jenne” of Sofina Jenne is coined from the concept “Sofina’s jeune fille like a Parisienne.” The gentle sound of the name also suggests a young and lovely image.

Since its launch in 1982, Sofina has pursued dermatological research, and, based on knowledge and expertise accumulated, the brand has proposed skin care that supports skin as it changes according to age. According to a Kao survey, women in their 20s, who are sensitive to changes in their skin, are highly conscious of unstable skin conditions and worry about their skin becoming rough and dry. Moreover, skin in the 20s features a fast cornification cycle and increased moisture evaporation, with the result that moisture in the skin is easily lost. Dry skin with insufficient hydration tends to be deficient in ceramide, which retains moisture in the corneum, and is easily affected by external stimuli. On the other hand, though individual cases differ, due to active sebaceous glands, skin in the 20s generally has high sebum content.

Sofina Jenne retains ceramide, which tends to be insufficient in the inner skin, and promotes its functionality, leading to a fresh skin that retains moisture. Sofina Jenne Jelly Moisturizer, a central product of the series, employs updated ceramide technology. With no greasy feel and containing oil-free ingredients, Kao says this product supplies hydration more effective than that in a cream.

Additional items in the line include: Makeup Cleansing Liquid, Milky Cleanser, 2 Lotions and 3 Day Protectors.

Sofina Jenne proposes skin care most appropriate for skin properties in the 20s with the concept “Beautifying your skin in the 20s more than ever before.”

The bottle is elegantly drawn with a traditional, feminine lace pattern. By suggesting that beautiful, moisturized skin of young women in their 20s can be observed through the lace, the brand infuses the sentiment of “gently embracing your precious skin.” Using different packaging colors for each item, the youthful, simple design attracts women in their 20s, and illustrates a feeling of fresh hydration with gentle pastel colors and translucent package texture.
